Michael is a seasoned CFO with extensive experience building and scaling venture-backed companies. His background with capital markets ranges from institutional equity (VC and PE) and debt financings to liquidity events through M&A and IPOs. He currently is the CFO for a GV (Google Ventures) portfolio company, Kitchen United. Previously, he helped shepherd PowerFlex Systems from seed stage to acquisition by one of the 100 largest companies in the world (EDF:FP). Prior to that, he helped grow a technology company focused on assisting restaurants build and enhance their digital presence including online ordering, into a Series D international enterprise. He also practiced M&A and corporate finance for one of the largest law firms in the world, Baker & Daniels, LLP (now Faegre Baker Daniels LLP). Michael grew up in a restaurant family, anchored by an Italian restaurant founded by his grandfather and a neighborhood grocery store and butchery founded by his other grandfather. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics / finance from DePauw University, his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law, and his Masters of Business Administration from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
