Jim Collins is the founder, owner and operator of Town Kitchen and Grill in Montrose, CA, a 100 seat new American restaurant that recently won 10 best new American restaurants in Los Angeles. But that’s just his night job. During the days Jim has CEO’d a series of national, venture-backed distributed enterprises including Affinity Internet, a hosting company with more than 500,000 websites and Pictage, a B2B2C enterprise connecting professional photographers and their clients. Today Jim is CEO of Pasadena, CA based Kitchen United, a commercial kitchen outsourcer and operator serving the delivery, restaurant and entrepreneurial food community.


Meredith Sandland

Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining Kitchen United, Meredith Sandland was the Chief Development Officer for Taco Bell, a division of Yum! Brands. In that role, she added more than $1 billion in sales to the system through the addition of 1,000 restaurants. She was responsible for concept, franchise sales, expansion strategy, market planning, real estate, architecture, construction, and maintenance. She also led International Development Strategy and overall Brand Strategy in other roles during her tenure at Taco Bell. Previously, Meredith worked for more than a decade for Bain & Company, specializing in Private Equity due diligence and post-acquisition alignment of management teams and owners.


Atul Sood

Chief Business Officer

Atul Sood is the Chief Business Officer for Kitchen United and is responsible for spearheading strategic partnerships along with administrative and financial management. Prior to his role with Kitchen United, Atul was the Director of Business Development for McDonald's Global Digital organization, where he was responsible for launching and managing McDonald's food delivery partnerships. Atul began his career in investment banking and has, amongst other roles, founded, grown and sold his own start-up in the sales technology space.


Massimo Noja de Marco

Massimo Noja de Marco

Chief Culinary Officer and Founder

Massimo Noja De Marco serves as Kitchen United’s Chief Culinary Officer. Prior to joining the company, Massimo owned and operated PH+E, a boutique consulting firm focusing on opening restaurants, hotels and bars across the US, Mexico and Europe. He served as Vice President of Operations for SBE Entertainment, controlling all operational aspects for the Restaurants and Nightlife division. Previously he covered the same role at Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events, overseeing operations for all venues in S. California, including major events and awards shows, such as the Academy Awards.

Formerly, Massimo owned and operated restaurants in NYC and Los Angeles and ran the Food and Beverage Department for The Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey and Hillcrest Country Club in Beverly Hills.

Massimo was raised in a seven-generation family in Hospitality in the Lake District outside of Milan, Italy, where he graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management and a Bachelors in Public Relations from IULM University in Milan. For three years he ran the family business composed of boutique hotels and restaurants in Italy.


Michael Montagano

Chief Financial Officer

Michael brings a wealth of knowledge to Kitchen United. Experienced with startups, he most recently helped scale Mopro into an international technology company. Michael served as an M&A and Corporate Finance attorney for Faegre, Baker & Daniels, LLP. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and finance from DePauw University, his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law, and his Masters of Business Administration from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.


Craig Cochrane

EVP, Marketing

Craig has created and implemented multi-channel marketing strategies that have directly improved sales and visibility for various brands in the entertainment, technology and real estate industries. Prior to joining Kitchen United, Craig served as the Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy for the Special Olympics World Games. Craig received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Harvard University, and his Masters of Business Administration from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

EVP, Data Strategy & Revenue Growth

With robust experience driving strategic growth, Ms. Chang-Lai most recently served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and General Manager, Travel for Internet Brands and previously held positions at The Wonderful Company, Bain & Company, and Chevron. Ms. Lai received a Bachelor of Science in business administration and computer science from the University of California, Berkley, and a Master of Science in management science and engineering from Stanford University.

Jessi brings vast experience in the restaurant, retail, food and beverage supply chain industries. He is a highly accomplished IT Executive & Technologist with deep expertise in developing and implementing customer facing systems and infrastructure. Prior to Kitchen United, he led the business technology initiatives for Pick Up Stix, Leeann Chin, Mandarin Express, & City Brewing Company.


Janey Chu

VP, Human Resources

With nearly 20 years of experience in human resources, Janey is a skilled and proven HR leader, having worked with organizations big and small to scale their HR functions. Prior to Kitchen United, Janey held the role of Director, People Partners and Operations at OpenX, and previously held HR positons at Broadcom, Acer/Gateway/eMachines Computers, Miramax Films, Spotlight Health and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Janey is a graduate of University of California Santa Barbara.


Anthony Green

Anthony possesses more than 17 years of experience as a sales and business development executive in roles that have spanned the globe. Throughout his career he has helped technology startups and early stage companies to win new business, grow revenue and develop strategic partnerships that contribute to long term success. Prior to Kitchen United, Anthony was SVP, Sales and Partnerships at Snaps, and previously held senior roles at Kik Interactive, Brand Networks, and Concep, where he was President, Global Head of Sales and Co-Founder. He is a graduate of Queensland University of Technology.

VP, Business Development

Jen is a highly effective business development leader, with over 15 years in sales leadership and partner development in high-growth organizations. Strategic and innovative, Jen has driven improvements in organizational structuring, sales efficacy, and complex B2B and B2C processes. Prior to Kitchen United, she led sales growth in diverse industries, including technology, manufacturing, and logistics.


Robbye Schroeder Kirkpatrick

VP, National Field Development

Robbye Schroeder Kirkpatrick is the Vice President of National Field Development at Kitchen United and executes strategies to align the Company’s real estate objectives with overall business goals. Prior to her role with Kitchen United, Robbye was a Director for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Houston. She started her real estate career at Trammel Crow Company as a Commercial Tenant Representative in Dallas and Los Angeles. Robbye received her BBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University and her MED from Loyola Marymount University.


Mike Mirkil

VP, Consumer Marketing

Mike Mirkil is a senior restaurant marketing executive with a 25+ year career focused on understanding consumer behavior and leveraging insights to create effective marketing, advertising and branding initiatives that drive profitable growth across the restaurant and retail industries. He has worked for and with global ad agencies including JWT, FCB, DDB and TBWA Chiat/Day as well as corporations including Taco Bell and General Mills. In 2010 he became the first head of marketing for The Habit Burger Grill, helping grow and scale that brand from 30 to 100 locations.

Mike received his BA from the University of Michigan and his MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He currently resides in South Pasadena with his wife Rebecca and their two cats Ramona and Grady.

Carl Orsbourn is the VP of Operations for Kitchen United and is responsible for P&L accountability for each of the virtual kitchens, the smooth operation of facilities, the development, management and success of a large staff and the successful opening of new facilities. He and his team have direct responsibility of ensuring excellent service, communication and support to DSP partners, the restaurant cooks and front of house retail consumers. Prior to his role with Kitchen United, Carl was a marketing director at BP where he was responsible for promotions, supply chain, proprietary product & offer development activity. He holds an MBA from London School of Business, and a BA in Management from University of Lincoln.

John Miller is Chairman & CEO of Cali Group. Prior to founding Cali Group in 2011, he was the second employee at Arrowhead (NASDAQ: ARWR) where he was responsible for formation, growth, and sale of Arrowhead’s electronics business unit. John graduated Order of the Coif from Stanford Law School and is an author of The Handbook of Nanotechnology Business, Policy, and Intellectual Property Law as well as various other publications related to nanomaterials and nanoscale electronics.

Harry Tsao formed Avista Investments in 2009. The firm invests primarily in startup and growth-stage businesses. In the last nine years, Avista has invested in three general categories: Internet, Sports (including eSports), and Food Tech. In the Food Tech space, Avista focuses on technology and infrastructure that can disrupt the traditional food industry.
